Lauren is leading the International Program's research on U.S. trade agreements and labor standards.

She has been a consultant to the International Labor Organization, where she has worked with the Small Enterprise Development (SEED) and Local Economic Development (LED) Programmes on research in Africa and Asia. She has also worked with The Bretton Woods Project in London on issues of taxation in developing countries.

She holds a Master’s Degree from the London School of Economics, where her research focused on Chinese environmental policy.
